Poultry industry has boomed in Uganda, since it has become an important factor in the economic daily life, for its high healthy values as a major source of protein, as well as the high increase in the demand from families, food companies and restaurants. All these has contributed to the notable growth of the industry.
Nowadays, both broiler chicken and laying hens are dependent on concentrated feeds, which contains protein feed powder of animal origin produced by high-cost production inputs, compared to the traditional methods. Yet it results in healthy chicken production in a shorter period, multiplies the production rounds per year, reduces a lot of costs and offers advantage in the chicken cycle, which is younger and tastier, thanks to the Ugandan climate.
